Chinese New Year is coming. February 16th is the Chinese New year, the year of the Dog will be upon us! Every year families gather to celebrate Chinese New Year and celebrate health, wealth, and good fortune.
Every year in school my kids do something for chinese new year. But they enjoy it so much I try to have a craft waiting for them when they get home as well. This year I found this fun dragon craft. It is such a simple craft, but it will bring them so much joy to see it waiting for them when they get home.
We all love to celebrate together, we even prepare chinese food for dinner and eat fortune and almond cookies for dessert. This year they can enjoy playing with their dragons after dinner. Thank you to Homeschool Giveaways for the craft tutorial. Homeschool Giveaways offers many more ideas for creating and learning at home. Be sure to check them out!
What kind of occasions do you celebrate with your family that isn’t exactly traditions of your own culture or religion? We think it is important to learn about different cultures and religions in our family so we try to do little activities, crafts, or even find books about other cultures and read about them together.
