Summer Meals: Philly Cheese Brats

We love to grill. Its simple, its easy, and its less cleanup. During the summer I kid you not, 90% of my meals are cooked outdoors.

I do love to just do dogs and burgers but that can get boring. I love to mix it up with fun new recipes. So thank you very much to NeighborFoodBlog for this fun and simple brat recipe.

Brats are always fun, but these one mix it up with a taste of philly. inspired by the Philadelphia Cheese Steak it brings the taste of Philly to the brat. We absolutely loved them. I especially loved that I didn’t have to do a whole lot of cleanup. We were able to make it all outside on the grill (thanks to a pan on the grill I even made the cheese sauce outside).

NeighborFoodBlog even suggested some incredible side dishes to accompany this delicious meal. We went simple and just had salad on the side with a little dressing, but I am attending a family barbecue this weekend and decided to try to make the Greek Pasta Salad she features on the blog as well.

One of the great things about the internet is the ability to find things you didn’t know existed, or get great ideas from other people like you. This recipe is so simple, yet I never thought to do it on my own. Thank you so much to fellow foodies like NeighborFoodBlog who can help to bring us out of our comfort zone and try new and inspired things!

Summer Eats: Kansas City Barbecue Ribs

Summer is in full bloom. The kids are finally out of school, the weather is hot, and the pool is open. So it isn’t surprising that all of that fantastic summer barbecue food is out on the shelves at the grocery store and begging to be brought home and grilled. We love summer barbecues. Ribs are a HUGE favorite in our house. My husband makes them several times during the summer season. I love to have them with lots of sauce. So I love to baste them after they are grilled, and we even keep some extra sauce on hand for eating. But, we love trying new recipes. So of course when I saw this recipe for Kansas City Barbecue Ribs I knew we had to try it.
