Christmas Cupcakes

Do you have a christmas party coming up soon? We are having a kid-friendly party this year with all of our friends and colleagues. So I wanted to do something for dessert that would excite the kids as well as the adults. I came up with the idea of letting the kids decorate their own christmas cupcakes. I will bake cupcakes ahead of time and buy all sorts of frostings, icings, candies, and sugars to put on top of the cupcakes.

I searched the web this morning to find some fun cupcake ideas to place at the table so that the kids could have some ideas before decorating. I found multiple ideas that will wow everyone.  I cannot wait to see what everyone come sup with. I almost want to have a little contest and let the kids show off their cupcake and let the adults judge the best one.

Cupcakes are such a fun and simple way to express your creativity and showcase your favorite part of the holidays. The possibilities are endless. You can make christmas trees, christmas ornaments, winter themed snowflakes or snowmen, holly, or even Santa Claus.

What are you planning for all of your holiday gatherings? Are you planning an elaborate dessert? Or something more fun and festive like cookies or cupcakes?

Hot New Movies: Thor Ragnarok

Do you have a house full of superhero fans? I sure do. And trust me everyone is counting down to the release of the new Thor-Ragnarok movie. No longer with the Avengers, and finding his own world torn apart Thor is imprisoned and forced to participate in a gladiator challenge. The Hulk makes an appearance in this film, making it a must-see in my household. These kids and their Dad are going nuts with previews. I must admit, I love the movies too. But I was far more excited for Guardian’s of the Galaxy and Wonder Woman. However, in the spirit of superhero appreciation, I have found some fun ways to keep everyone busy for the next few weeks while we wait. I found some fun crafts and snacks for a movie marathon day of nothing but Thor. Check out these fun and delicious cupcakes. Thank you Spaceships and Laser Beams for a fun and delicious recipe that will keep my kids’ mouths full during the movie but will also keep them in the spirit for a day filled with Thor. Easter Goodies: Bunny Cupcakes

Easter may still be a few weeks away, but it is always nice to plan ahead. I love to bake, especially at the holidays. Recently we have been so busy that if I do not plan ahead I will never have time to accomplish anything, thank you baseball season! So I am looking ahead and planning out my Easter to-do’s now. I have already found egg dying tutorials that both my kids and I are excited to try, I have ideas for Easter Baskets, and I have found the perfect (and simple!) Bunny Cupcakes for Easter Day.

Thank you Pillsbury for making my life simple! I try to bake form scratch on most occasions, but with both kids in baseball and school it makes it that much harder to accomplish everything. Especially since the family is attending a wedding out of town in March. This recipe is easy to follow, allows me to not worry about too many instructions, and it is simple enough the kids can help me out.
