Elf Yourself is an app created by Office Depot and it is available on IOS and Android stores. All you need to do is download the app, and import the photos you want to upload. Then it allows you to choose a scene and a style. Wait patiently as if compiles your choices and designs your very own elf scene. Complete with singing, dancing, and lots of laughing!

This is a fun and silly app to enjoy with the kids. Share your elf yourself creation on your favorite social media platforms with friends and family. If your kids are anything like mine they will be making videos all afternoon giggling and chortling the day away.

Fanta Floats: Halloween Treats

Part of Halloween is enjoying the little things, decorations, fall weather, time together, a good scare, and a sweet treat. This sweet treat is perfect for a family night. You can lay back and enjoy a fun or spooky flick and enjoy a sweet Fanta Float Halloween treat.

We found this sweet idea at Belle of the Kitchen. Ashlyn knows how to make a fun and yummy sweet treat. Head on over to  Belle of the Kitchen for the full recipe.

Fanta float

We paid it with some fun popcorn mixed with candy corn while we enjoyed a fantastic family flick, Hocus Pocus. In our family we have movies that make us feel that the season is actually here and we are ready to enjoy it, and for Halloween that movie is Hocus Pocus. If you haven’t seen it you should check it out. Its a great family film that isn’t too scary for the little kids, and is still fun enough for the older kids. Its a family favorite for us and we cannot imagine Halloween without it. It reminds my husband and I of our childhood, and every year it is so much fun to share it with our kids. Now I know how my parents felt sharing A Charlie Brown Christmas with us. Enjoy your traditions folks, and may they last forever!

Rubbing Art: Leaves, Toys, Names, and MORE!

Fall usually brings  lot of art time in our household. We do a lot of new art activities but my kids’ favorite will always be leaf rubbings. This year I wanted to find something other than just leaves to create what can only be described as my kids favorite art activity. I do not know why it is their favorite activity. It must be the fact that they get to see something appear that wasn’t there before. Or perhaps it is simply that they get to destroy a crayon to create their art? Either way they love making leaf rubbings.

I do not know why I never thought of changing the activity before now. But by simply adding something other than a leaf, an object that still causes a relief image to appear when rubbed with a crayon, my kids are experiencing a brand new activity.

Or course when I finally thought to try this and wanted to look up some new ideas I should have known that I would find some amazing ideas on none other than Frugal Fun 4 Boys. Sarah ALWAYS has amazing ideas for fun for boys, and now she has incredible fun for boys and girls! We have highlighted Sarah and her blog many times here at The Boy’s Store Blog. We love her ideas for crafts and activities. Even though I knew what I wanted to do by replacing leaves in the leaf rubbings Frugal Fun 4 Boys came up with some ideas I never even thought of. So head on over to Sarah’s blog to see some amazing ideas. And enjoy watching as your kids get very excited about finding new and exciting objects in their rubbing art activity. Rubbing art
