Halloween Snacks: Pizza Skulls!!

Does your little one have a Halloween party every year? Do you attend a harvest festival or Fall Festival? Or do you just like to enjoy a spooky meal on Halloween? Then these Pizza Skulls are something you want to check out!

Plain Chicken is a fun foodie blog that is stepping up our spooky game this Halloween snack season. My go-to for Halloween dinner is usually Mummies in a blanket, or Spooky Spaghetti. But after checking out this fun recipe I am ready to shake-it-up this year. One major benefit to trying this new recipe is that I can use pizza dough that is gluten free since we have discovered a gluten allergy in our household.

The fun of this recipe is that you can switch it up or add in whatever you want. Are you out of pepperoni? Try using sausage and mushrooms. Want to make it Hawaiian style? Add in Ham and Pineapple. Just like your pizza you can customize it with your favorite toppings.

The skull mold is available at Amazon now. you could even check out these alternatives if you want a different mold.

Spooky Ghost Chili: a Halloween Dinner Idea

IMG_0854.JPGWe love to get into the Halloween spirit. But we also love an easy simple dinner the night of Halloween. Well this year we have found another spectacularly spooky dinner idea with very little fuss. Now we can concentrate on getting ready for our ghoulish night trick-or-treating and making last minute changes or touch-ups on our costumes and decor. We have made mummy hotdogs and spooky pizzas in the past, so we wanted something new. Well we sure found it. This year we will be making Spooky Ghost Chili. This is perfect for us since we love chili, it is simple to make, and we can make it in a hurry. The little added Halloween charm makes it a fun and fantastic meal for our little ones, and us, on this fun Halloween night.

We found this Spooky Ghost Chili at Little Nummies. Little Nummies was created by mommy of three Kellie. Kellie loves to make fun and fantastic meals for her three little ones, and has tons of amazing ideas to make any meal fun! We especially love her Spooky Ghost Chili. It is quick, simple, and so much fun. Sometimes we expect fun little meals to be too difficult, time consuming, or expensive. Kellie shows us it doesn’t have to be with her Spooky Ghost Chili. You can also check out some of Kellie’s other fun meal ideas and try them at home. Everyone will love them!

What You Will Need:

Chili (need a new chili recipe? Try one of these)
Mozzarella Cheese or Jack Cheese (just make sure it’s white!)

Now just head on over to Little Nummies for some instructions on how to make some spooky little ghosts for your chili, serve, and enjoy! We are so excited to try this at home, we hope you and your family have a great Halloween!

Mummy Hotdogs

What You Will Need:

10 large hotdogs
1 can of pillsbury crescent roll dough
Pam spray
Ketchup and Mustard

What You Will Do:

1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Unravel your dough and separate at perforations. You will create 4 rectangles, then cut each rectangle into 10 thin strips.
2. Next you begin wrapping the strips around your hotdogs, wrap 4 pieces around each hotdog.
When wrapping leave a 1/2 inch space at near the top of the hotdog to use as the face of the mummy. Repeat with all 10 hotdogs.
3. Place hotdogs on a cookie sheet, spray them lightly with the cooking spray, then bake at 375 F for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
4. Now you can use the ketchup and mustard to create faces on the mummies. Now enjoy those mummified dogs before heading out for some awesome trick or treating!
