Candy Cane Reindeer: Christmas DIY Fun

Now that the kids are going to be done with school for the holidays you may be getting ready for holiday parties at school or with an extra-curricular your kids attend. This can mean you have to bring a goodie bag, a potluck dish, or a present. I always find it is best to go cute but simple. This year that is exactly what I am doing.

Candy Cane Reindeer

These are so simple, so cute. They can be eaten or played with, and kids think they are so much fun to help create. I have put my little elves to work and have them helping me create these beauties this year since it is their friends and classmates that will be receiving them. I found this fun tutorial from One Little Project. It has simple and straightforward pictures that make it easy for my kids to help me with the craft. I love when crafts are simple. After all, it is the thought that counts, and the effort that went into creating something, not how difficult it was to make it.

Christmas Treats: Reindeer Donuts

Christmas Treats: Reindeer Donuts

Looking for a sweet treat for your little ones this Christmas? Try some reindeer donuts. Everyone loves a little sweet treat now and then and the holidays are the time to indulge in a little happiness and sweetness. Sweet eats also make excellent gifts during the holidays so these reindeer treats could be packaged and given as gifts to neighbors, teachers, friends, or even left out for Santa on Christmas Eve.

We found these great reindeer donuts from Love From The Oven a great blog about scrumptious food that you can make for your family anytime of the year. While Christi Mom of two and blog creator, and awesome baker, made these sweet treats she made her donuts from scratch with a sweet little baby donut maker. Check out her site for the recipe and instructions but for those looking for a sweet treat wilt the hard work try an alternative recipe to the precious reindeer donuts by purchasing small hostess donuts instead of making them.

What You Will Need:

Small chocolate donuts
White chocolate mini chips

What You Will Do:

Take a package of small chocolate donuts. With each donut insert into the top of the donut two antlers with two pretzel halves.
Next use a red M&M as a Rudolph the reindeer nose and place it in the center of the donut, it should fit neatly in the little hole.
Now take two mini white chocolate chips and place them above the nose as two little eyes. Punch them into the donut pointy side in.

Now you have a sweet little Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer donut. It can make a sweet little treat for holiday guests, or just bring a little holiday cheer to a Sunday morning breakfast. Check out Love From The Oven for other great recipes. Christi also features a sweet snowman version of the donuts that will also be a big hit this holiday season.
