Make Your Own Lego Candy Dispenser: Valentine’s Day Love for Your Boy

Candy and Valentine’s Day are sort of synonymous, well at least they are at our house. We love to share a little treat with our sweeties on Valentine’s Day. After all, love is love. And we love our kiddos more than anything so why not make them feel special on Valentine’s Day too. We usually just do a little something small. For example a samll candy bar, or a little bag of gummy worms, or a small toy or book. It is sometimes easier to do something special for the girls because let’s face it the stores cater to them on Valentine’s Day. This year we felt like doing something a little extra special for our boys. So we got searching, and guess what we found? Our friends at Frugal Fun 4 Boys had a pretty spectacular idea. Lego Candy Dispenser.

Our friend Sarah, and fellow mommy, over at a Frugal Fun 4 Boys created this pretty amazing looking candy dispenser out of the greatest thing on Earth. Legos!!! I have not met a boy yet that did not think legos were the coolest thing on the face of the Earth. I also have not met a boy that doesn’t love candy. So why not pair them together. It seems like the perfect no-brainer.

You will need legos to do this project, so make sure they are clean and ready to go. You will need an assortment of Legos so be sure to read all of Sarah’s tutorial before starting so you know what blocks you will need. Sarah has you covered for learning how to use it as well with a great little YouTube video at the end of her tutorial. She suggests small candy pieces like skittles, m & m’s and such but you could also do Reese’s pieces or other pieces candy. Small candy hearts might even work since it is Valentine’s Day.Lego Candy Dispenser

We love to bake. The sweet smell of melting sugar, chocolate, baking dough, it fills the house will warmth and happiness. We enjoy making different sweet treats during the changing seasons. This month we want to make some fabulous valentine’s day treats. We found a fabulous recipe for making heart shaped whoopie pie cookies, and we want to share it with our favorite readers as a sweet valentine’s day treat!

This month our whoopie pie cookie recipe comes from a very special blog. Cheryl is the writer and creator of the blog My Sister’s Cottage. This very special blog is a tribute to her sister Nancy who passed away from Ovarian Cancer. Cheryl and Nancy loved to craft, cook, and bake together and ran a blog together before Nancy passed. Now as a tribute to her beloved sister Cheryl writes and shares about recipes, crafts, and other great ideas in memory of her sister and their shared love. We think this is a great blog to check out, you can get some great ideas that will help you in your cooking, baking and crafting adventures with your family.
